Angel Karolyi took the reins for the duration of the mare’s international career. In 2019, Angel and April Moon contested the Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru, as part of Team Venezuela. During the 2019 season, April Moon won the $36,500 Murieta Inn Spa & Restaurant 1m45 at Samcramento CSI3*-W, was 2nd in the 1m50 at Spruce Meadows ATCO Connect CSI5*, 3rd in the $132,000 Grand Prix at Tryon CSI3* and 3rd in the $100,000 Grand Prix at Del Mar CSI3*.
The dam of April Moon, SRF Dragnonfly (later SRF Dragonfly De Joter), represented both Brazil and the USA at Nations Cup level, with Karina Harbich Johannpeter and Nicole Shahinian-Simpson respectively. Nicole rode SRF Dragonfly to win the USA Olympic Show Jumping Trials in 2008. During a competition break, SRF Dragonfly produced triplets from one embryo transfer flush, resulting in full-sisters April Moon, Nicole’s Grand Prix mare Akuna Mattata & Junior showjumper Abbey Road.
